Jerry's blog caught my attention a few days back while surfing over at the defunct BlogExplosion. It's not only inspiring, it is also helpful esp with the info that I have read so far...
The inescapable facts concerning weight loss:
1. A pound of fat contains 3500 calories. If you want to lose a pound of fat, you must burn 3500 more calories than you consume.
2. You must consume enough calories each day to keep your body from thinking it may starve. If you don't get enough calories your metabolism will slow down thereby burning less calories and you'll just feel tired and hungry.
3. Walking is a wonderful way of burning calories, it will burn extra calories and build muscles in your legs. Try to work up to at least 2 miles a day. If you walk 2 miles in 34 minutes (3.5 mph), you'll burn approximately your weight in extra calories.
Now, if you would like to compute how much calories you burn while walking, head on over to Diary of a Loser and click on your weight and the hours/ minutes that you have spent on walking today.
And in connection to that, I would like to share a few photos I found over at Flickr. Pictures of empty fastfood restaurants!
Our favorite little town in BC has only one fast food restaurant. Not only will people from the town not eat there, they won't work there. Franchises come in, set up shop and the city starves them out.
The only people that work there are the owners and migrants and tourists they can talk into working for them for short bursts.
I suggest this approach to all people who have good community connections.
Thanks EuroYank! Come by again and tell me which blog I should link you? You have tons there!
Erik - I guess fast food will never disappear. It's just a matter of location where "they" think they will sell. Besides, I always have doubts with their cleanliness.
I believe that gold would only shine after it passes through fire, as diamonds would glitter after being hammered. That is how I see myself. I have been through it all, and now it's my turn to shine...

Another inescapable fact, fast food is not food.
